Abstract

The study aimed to determine the requirements for a social worker to practice professional models with elderly groups, and this study is considered a descriptive and analytical study. The study was applied in a comprehensive inventory method to all social workers working with elderly groups in elderly care homes in the governorates of Cairo and Giza, whose number is (82). The use of a questionnaire on the requirements of the social worker’s practice of professional models with groups of the elderly, and the results of the study showed that there is a statistically significant relationship between some social characteristics (age - academic qualification - years of experience) and the sources of knowledge of the social worker with professional models, and there is a statistically significant relationship between some social characteristics (Age - academic qualification - years of experience) and the requirements for a social worker to practice professional models with elderly groups, The researcher recommended the necessity of holding training courses for social workers Understand how to practice professional models in a proper scientific, and to use various professional methods while practicing professional models with elderly groups.
